Ingredients of Vegetable Jalfrezi Recipe

- Carrots - 3
- Capsicum - 1
- Garlic flakes - 4
- Garlic - 1 Teaspoon
- Tomatoes - 4
- Salt - 1 Tablespoon
- Boiled peas - 1 Cup
- Tomato puree - 1 Tablespoon
- Vinegar - 1 Tablespoon
- Black pepper powder - ¾ Tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 Tablespoon
- Oregano - 1 Tablespoon
- Corn flour - 2 Tablespoons
How to Make Vegetable Jalfrezi
Step 1: Pierce a tomato on a fork, deeply and hold it over a naked flame for 3 minutes to blacken and loose the skin. Peel and chop the roasted tomatoes.
Step 2: Take a kadhai and put the chopped onions, ginger, garlic and carrots.
Step 3: Add ½ cup water and salt to it.
Step 4: Then, cook for 7 to 8 minutes on low heat until the carrots get just done. Don’t overcook it.
Step 5: Now, add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 6: Now, Add tomato puree, vinegar, black pepper powder, oregano and one tablespoon of sugar. Mix it well together.
Step 7: Then add the boiled peas and capsicum and again mix it well.
Step 8: Now, At last, add the cornflour paste and cook till the sauce turns thick.
Step 9: Serve hot with butter roti or butter naan.
