It is a simple dish that is prepared with chicken pieces, onion, tomatoes, curd (yogurt), garlic, ginger along with Indian spices.
Dhaba style cooking is easy and can quickly implement at home, in this style the chicken is not roasted, but instead of it, chicken is simmered in the broth till it cooked thoroughly. You can also add cream to it to make the thicker gravy. Try to use fresh masala; it gives a great flavor to the dish. This spicy chicken dish is served with Naan or Roti and plain boiled rice. Ingredients of Punjabi Chicken Curry Recipe
- Chicken - 800 gm
- Curd - 1 Cup
- Onion paste - 1 Cup
- Tomato puree - 1 Cup
- Ginger-garlic paste - 2 Tablespoons
- Ghee - 3 Tablespoons
- Garam masala - 1 Tablespoon
- Coriander powder - 1 Tablespoon
- Chilli powder - 1 Tablespoon
- Salt - 1 Tablespoon
How to Make Punjabi Chicken Curry
Step 1: Before using the chicken wash it thoroughly.
Step 2: Now, mix the chicken pieces with curd, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, and salt and keep aside for ½ hour into the refrigerator.
Step 3: Now, take a microwave-safe bowl and add ghee, onion paste, tomato pieces and other dry masalas and microwave covered for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring in between.
Step 4: Now add ½ cup water in marinated chicken and mix it thoroughly. Cover it adequately and microwave it at 100% power for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring in between.
Step 5: Again cover and microwave at 60% power for 2 to 3 minutes.
Step 6: Serve hot with butter naan/roti or rice.
