Ingredients of Spanish Omelette Recipe
- Egg - 6
- Seeded & finely chopped green chilies - 3
- Potatoes, peeled & thinly sliced - 2
- Oil - 2 Tablespoons
- Finely chopped celery or fresh coriander - 1 Tablespoon
- Finely chopped onions - 1
- A pinch black pepper powder
- Green bell pepper, thinly sliced - 1
- Salt - 1 Teaspoon
- Grated cheese - 1 Tablespoon
- Butter - 2 Tablespoons
How to Make Spanish Omelette
Step 1: In a pan, heat oil and add onions fry them till becoming tender and slightly golden then add potato slices and salt then cook them until tender. It will take about 3-4 minutes.
Step 2: Sprinkle finely chopped celery and mix in the green bell pepper slices. Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool.
Step 3: Break eggs in a bowl and whisk till fluffy then add prepared potato mixture to it and pepper powder, grated cheese and adjust seasoning with salt. Whisk them together now to mix well.
Step 4: In a flat bottom pan, heat butter and pour the egg mixture then cover the pan and over MEDIUM heat allow the eggs to set. It will take about 3-4 minutes.
Step 5: When almost set, invert on a large plate and slide back into the pan and cook a few more minutes. Add some more butter if needed.
Step 6: When both the sides are cooked well, again slide the omelette onto a plate and cut into slices.
Step 7: You do not need any other accompaniment with this but you can enjoy it with tomato ketchup, or butter toasts will be a good idea.
