Ingredients of Shepherd’s Pie Recipe
- Potatoes - 1 Kg
- Butter - 1 Cup
- Milk - 1 Cup
- Chopped fresh chives - 2 Tablespoons
- Salt - 1 Teaspoon
- Pepper - 1 Teaspoon
- Minced beef - 1 Kg
- Onion - 1
- Gravy powder - 2 Tablespoons
- Minestrone soup - 420 gm
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tablespoon
- Tomato - 1
- Parsley - 2 Tablespoons
- Grated cheddar cheese - 60 gm
How to Make Shepherd’s Pie
Step 1: Peel and cut potatoes into 2.5 cm cubes and place in a large bowl. Add two tablespoons water; cover it and cook for 12 to 14 minutes on HIGH flame or until tender. Stir halfway through cooking. Drain.
Step 2: Mash potatoes and add butter, milk, chives, salt, and pepper until it forms a smooth consistency.
Step 3: In a large bowl, combine mince and onion and cook for 10 to 12 minutes on MEDIUM-HIGH flame, stirring every two minutes. Drain juices from the meat.
Step 4: Add gravy powder, minestrone soup, Worcestershire sauce, tomato, and parsley and mix it well.
Step 5: Spoon mixture into a 25*20 cm rectangular dish.
Step 6: Spread mashed potato evenly over top of mixture. Sprinkle cheese on the top.
Step 7: Cook for more 20 to 22 minutes on MEDIUM-HIGH flame.
Step 8: Allow to stand covered with foil for ten minutes before serving.
