Sabudana Khichdi
Sabudana or Sago Khichdi is a healthy food for those who are on fast. Sabudana Khichdi is a delicious dish that is loved by all. Sabudana khichdi is made during Navratri days and other regular festivals. It’s a particular dish made during fasts with sago (sabudana), potatoes, peanuts, lemon juice, and coriander leaves. Ingredients of Sabudana Khichdi Recipe
- Sabudana (sago) - 2 Cups
- Cumin seeds - ½ Teaspoon
- Finely chopped green chilies - 2
- Curry leaves - 8
- Small boiled and peeled potatoes - 2
- Lemon juice - 1 Tablespoon
- Rock salt (salt used in food made for fasting) - 1 Teaspoon
- Oil - 2 Tablespoons
- Coriander leaves - 1 Tablespoon
- Peanuts - ½ Cup
How to Make Sabudana Khichdi
Step 1: Add sabudana in a bowl, add required water to cover the sabudana and soak sabudana for 4-5 hours.
Step 2: After 3 hours you can see that sabudana absorbed the water and its size increased. Now, drain the water from sabudana and keep it aside.
Step 3: Now, roast the peanuts on the pan and peel the peanuts skins and grind it.
Step 4: Add oil in a frying pan and add cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chilies and fry it for 2 seconds. Then add mashed potatoes to it and cook it for 5-10 minutes.
Step 5: Now, add sabudana and roasted peanuts to it and again cook it for 5 minutes. Keep stirring.
Step 6: Once it’s ready, remove it from the flame and add into the bowl.
Step 7: Add lemon juice into sabudana khichdi and mix well.
Step 8: Garnish sabudana khichdi with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
