Ingredients of Orange-Glazed Carrot with Bacon Recipe
- Carrots with tops - 2 Pound
- Bacon slices - 4
- Orange juice - ¼ Cup
- Orange jelly powder - 3 Tablespoons
- Orange zest - 1 Teaspoon
How to Make Orange-Glazed Carrot with Bacon
Step 1: Cut the carrot tops and peel it. Coarsely chop some of the tops and keep it aside.
Step 2: In a deep frying pan, add water to it and let it boil then add carrots in it and cook it for 10 minutes.
Step 3: Meanwhile, put bacon in the cold skillet and cook the bacon on MEDIUM flame till it becomes crisp. Once bacon is ready, drain them on the paper towel from skillet.
Step 4: Now, drain carrots and reserve some cooking water for about ½ cup.
Step 5: In another large skillet, add reserved water and orange juice and boil it.
Step 6: Once it starts boiling, add orange jelly powder and stir it for 2-3 minutes.
Step 7: Then add bacon drippings and carrot in it and cook it for 3-4 minutes and then add orange zest and stir it.
Step 8: When it’s done transfer the carrots and sauce in the plate and garnish it with crumbled bacon and reserved chopped carrot tops.
