Khus Khus halwa is a delicious Indian dessert recipe made with the Poppy seeds. It’s a delicious recipe to try out during the winter season. It is made from poppy seeds, cardamom powder, milk and almonds, pistachios and cashew nuts.
Ingredients of Khus Khus Halwa Recipe
- Khus khus (Poppy Seeds) - 2 Cups
- Almonds - 2 Cups
- Ghee - 2 Cups
- Sugar - 2 Tablespoons
- Milk - ½ Cup
- Condensed milk - 2 Cups
How to Make Khus Khus Halwa
Step 1: Soak the poppy seeds in water for 5-6 hours.
Step 2: Now, drain the excess water from the poppy seeds, and grind it into the mixture.
Step 3: Now, in a kadhai, add the ghee and khus khus paste to it and continuously stir and roast the poppy seeds paste till it changes its color and starts spreading sweet aroma.
Step 4: Now, in another pan, add sugar, milk and cook it till it’s complete dissolves. Then add roasted poppy seeds paste and cook it for 5-6 minutes. Then add cardamom powder to it and mix them well.
Step 5: Once it becomes slightly thick remove it from the heat and add into the serving plate.
Step 6: Garnish the khus khus halwa with chopped almonds, pistachios, and cashew nuts.
