Ingredients of Jeera Rice Recipe
- Basmati rice - ½ Cup
- Ghee - 1 Tablepsoon
- Cumin seeds - 2 Tablespoons
- Bay leaf - 1
- Green cardamom - 1
- Cinnamon stick - ½ Inch
- Cloves - 2
- A petal of star anise
- Water - 1 ¼ Cups
- Salt - 1 Teaspoon
- Fried cashews for garnishing - 10
How to Make Jeera Rice
Step 1: Soak the basmati rice in the water for 20 minutes then drain the excess water from it.
Step 2: Now, in a deep frying pan and heat ghee on a LOW flame. Then, add cumin seeds to it when they start spluttering add bay leaf, green cardamom, cinnamon stick, cloves and a petal of star anise.
Step 3: Now add soaked basmati rice and water in cumin seeds temper.
Step 4: Cover the pan with its lid and cook the rice for about 20 minutes or till the rice gets cooked well.
Step 5: Your tempting Jeera rice is ready to serve, garnish it with fried cashews.
