Bean and Bacon Soup
Homemade Bean and Bacon Soup is a quick, healthy, yet delicious soup recipe made with very minimal ingredients.
I know bacon and bean combination is a little weird. So when you heard the name bean and bacon soup, you may not want to give it a try in your kitchen. But let me clear it, this soup tastes really good with fewer spices added. Trust me and give it a shot.
During this wintertime, I love a big bowl of soup with a piece of bread. So here I write those ingredients which I have generally used to cook this soup which are bacon, carrots, celery, chicken broth, tomato sauce and gives it flavor with yellow onions and garlic. To season it, I only use salt and pepper. There are other soup recipes I like homemade Panera broccoli cheese soup.

How to Make Bean and Bacon Soup
Step 1: Cook the bacon in a soup pot or dutch oven until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon to a paper towel-lined plate. Discard all but about two tablespoons of the bacon grease.
Step 2: To the hot bacon grease container, add the onions, carrots, and celery. Cook over MEDIUM heat until they start to soften, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook and additional minutes.
Step 3: Stir in the chicken broth and beans. Season it to taste with salt and pepper. Bring to a bubble then reduce the heat to low and let the soup simmer for 1 hour.
Step 4: Remove half of the soup to a blender or food processor. Process it until smooth.
Step 5: Return the puree to the soup pot and stir into the remaining soup. Add the tomato sauce and ¾ of the reserved bacon and stir to combine. Taste it and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Step 6: Let the soup simmer until it is heated through, about 5 minutes and serve it hot topped with the remaining bacon.
