Ingredients of Handi Chana Masala Recipe
- Kabuli chana (chick peas) - 2 Cups
- Brown cardamoms - 2
- Cloves - 3
- Finely chopped onion - 1
- Garlic paste - 1 Tablespoon
- Ginger paste - 1 Tablespoon
- Salt - 1 Tablespoon
- Chana Masala - 3 Tablespoons
- Red chili powder - ½ Tablespoon
- Garam masala - ½ Tablespoon
- Coriander powder - 4 Tablespoons
- Cumin Powder - 2 Tablespoons
- Tamarind pulp - 3 Tablespoons
- For Garnishing
- Tomato - 1
- Green chilies - 2
How to Make Handi Chana Masala
Step 1: Soak the Kabuli chana overnight.
Step 2: On the next day, drain water from the kabuli chana. Put it in a pressure cooker and add 4 cup water to it.
Step 3: Add finely chopped onion, brown cardamoms, cloves, garlic paste and ginger paste.
Step 4: Pressure cook at LOW heat flame for 15 to 20 minutes.
Step 5: Then, after the pressure drops, open the pressure cooker and add salt, dhania powder, channa masala, jeera powder, garam masala, red chili and the tamarind pulp to the cooked chana.
Step 6: Now, again pressure cook for 4-5 minutes.
Step 7: Garnish it with ginger matchsticks, tomatoes, and green chilies and serve hot.
