Gulab Jamun is an easy and simple dessert recipe to try out. Gulab Jamun is a traditional Indian Sweets which is eaten all over India during the festivals, as a dessert and many more special occasions. Gulab Jamun is a soft, spongy dessert that is full of flavored of sugar syrup. Today you can found many instant gulab jamun mixes, which saves your time to make gulab jamun at home. In this recipe, I have made the Gulab jamun with Khoya. You can also add paneer to the traditional recipe and make Paneer gulab jamun. Traditionally Gulab Jamun is fried in ghee; also I have used the same thing. If you don’t want to use ghee, then you can use oil for frying. Here is the easy recipe to make Gulab Jamun With Khoya.
Ingredients of Gulab Jamun Recipe
- Khoya (mava) - 300 gm
- Maida (all-purpose flour) - 50 gm
- A pinch of baking soda
- Whole cardamom seeds - ½ Teaspoon
- Cardamom powder - 1 Teaspoon
- Sugar - 400 gm
- Saffron (kesar) - 1/2 Teaspoon
- Raisin (kismis) - 40 gm
- Ghee for frying - 4 Cups
How to Make Gulab Jamun
Step 1: Take a bowl and grate a khoya and then add maida, baking soda, and cardamom seeds and mix it well.
Step 2: Now makes small balls from the khoya mixture. One by one take balls and in each piece add one raisin to the ball and again make a round ball of it. Be sure that the gulab jamun ball should be round in shape and has no any broken lines on the balls.
Step 3: Now, take a frying pan and add ghee to heat and then add gulab jamun to the pan and fry it until it becomes golden brown. Keep it aside to cool.
Step 4: Now, take the bowl and add water to it and add sugar and mix it well and make thick sugar syrup.
Step 5: Then add cardamom powder and Kesar and boil it. Remove it from the heat once it’s ready.
Step 6: Now, add previously made gulab jamun to this syrup for 15 to 20 minutes and again place it on the fire for 1-2 minute.
Step 7: Place Gulab Jamun into the refrigerator to make it cool. Serve cold.
