Here I am sharing an Indian style fish fry recipe which cooks the fish fillets with red chili powder, ginger, garlic, lemon juice, and other spices. You need to marinade the fish with the spices, so the fish absorb them, and it tastes best. You can grill or tawa fry the fish. Ingredients of Fish Fry Recipe
- Pomfret Fish fillets - 500 gm
- Oil - 3 Cups
- For marination
- Salt - 1 Teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 2 Tablespoons
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 Tablespoon
- Turmeric powder - ¼ Teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1 Teaspoon
- Red chili powder - ½ Teaspoon
- Coriander powder - ½ Teaspoon
How to Make Fish Fry
Step 1: In a bowl, add lemon juice, salt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and mix them well. Add a little amount of water to it and make a thick paste.
Step 2: Wash the fish fillets thoroughly and make slits in it.
Step 3: Now, marinate the fish with the previously made paste and marinade it for 30 minutes.
Step 4: Now, heat oil in a tawa on a LOW flame and place the fish over it. Fry the fish till it becomes crusty. Cover and cook the fish on MEDIUM heat for 5-6 minutes.
Step 5: Then flip over the fish and again cook on HIGH heat for 5-6 minutes.
Step 6: Remove the fish from the tawa and garnish it with lemon wedges and onion rings and serve hot.
