How to Make Poached Pears
Step 1: In a skillet, add water, sugar and lemon juice and bring it to a boil on HIGH heat.
Step 2: Continue boiling for 3-4 minutes then reduce the heat to MEDIUM.
Step 3: Now, peel the pears and slice off the base so that they can stand upright. Keep the stems intact.
Step 4: Now, place the pears in the sugar syrup and simmer them on MEDIUM heat for 60 minutes or till the tender.
Step 5: Press them into the simmering syrup by covering the skillet with a lid.
Step 6: Remove the skillet from the heat and keep the pears in the liquid for an hour or more, till they cool at room temperature.
Step 7: Cover and refrigerate it and use it as required.
