Ingredients of Banarasi Peda Recipe
- Khoya (mawa) - 1 Kg
- Sugar - 300 gm
- Cardamom powder - 1 Teaspoon
- Sugar-candy - 25 gm
- Almonds - 25 gm
- Pistachios - 25 gm
- A few drops of rose essence
How to Make Banarasi Peda
Step 1: Pound sugar candy very coarsely.
Step 2: Blanch and slice the dry fruits finely and mix them with the sugar-candy and keep it aside.
Step 3: Now in a heavy bottomed pan, add khoya (mawa), sugar and two tablespoons milk.
Step 4: Cook them over a SLOW flame, keep stirring it continuously until all the moisture is absorbed, and when the moisture turned very thick and started leaving the sides of the pan.
Step 5: Now Mix cardamoms and essence to the mixture and remove it from the fire.
Step 6: Knead to a smooth mixture with your hands and then make small round and flat balls from the dough.
Step 7: Cover both the sides of the balls with pieces of sugar-candy and nuts, press in gently so that the nuts adhere to the pedas.
Step 8: Delicious Banarasi Peda is ready to serve. You can also store it in airtight containers.
