Ingredients of Apple and Dates Pudding Recipe
- Sponge cake - 1
- Milk - ½ Cup
- Chopped almonds - 1 Cup
- For Apple Layer
- Apples - 2
- Lemon juice - 1 Teaspoon
- Sugar - 3 Tablespoons
- Cinnamon powder - ¼ Teaspoon
- Water - ¼ Cup
- To Make Dates Sauce
- Dates - 1 Cup
- Water - ½ Cup
- Corn flour - 1 Teaspoon
How to Make Apple and Dates Pudding
Step 1: Bring ready-made sponge cake from the market and cut it into half to get two pieces of the cake.
Step 2: Put one piece of cake into the serving dish and soak it with 5-6 tablespoon of milk. Repeat this for another part of the cake. Keep it aside.
Step 3: grate and peel the apples thickly.
Step 4: Now, add apple, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon powder and ¼ cup water in a frying pan and cook it on a MEDIUM flame for 5-7 minutes till it becomes almost dry.
Step 5: On the soaked cake, spread a thick layer of cooked apples.
Step 6: Then, put the other piece of soaked cake on top and press it gently. Keep it aside.
Step 7: Now, to prepare the dates sauce, wash and deseed dates and chop them ﬁnely.
Step 8: Boil chopped dates in ½ cup water for 5 minutes. Remove it from fire and let it cool.
Step 9: Then, Blend it in a blender only for a few seconds, don’t mash the dates altogether.
Step 10: Now, Mix in 1 tablespoon corn ﬂour with ½ cup water and add it to the dates puree.
Step 11: Then, cook the date sauce for 2-3 minutes alter the boil, stirring continuously till slightly thick.
Step 12: Pour the sauce over the cake such as to cover it entirely on the top. Tilt the dish a little to cover the sides also.
Step 13: To decorate the pudding sprinkle some chopped almonds.
