Adraki Murgh or Ginger Chicken is a delicious North Indian recipe to cook chicken with the flavor of ginger. This chicken curry is loaded with the taste of ginger and a variety of spices. Ingredients of Adraki Murgh Recipe
- Coriander seeds - 1 Teaspoon
- Black peppercorns - 5
- Cloves - 2 Pods
- Fennel seeds - 1 Teaspoon
- Ghee - 1 Cup
- Nigella seeds - 1 Teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 Tablespoons
- Ginger - 2 1/2 Tablespoons
- Chopped Onions - 2 Cups
- Chopped Tomato - 3 Cups
- Green chili - 2 Tablespoons
- Salt - 2 Tablespoons
- Red chili powder - 1 Teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 Teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1 Teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1 Teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 Teaspoon
- Chicken - 700 gm
- Sugar - 1 Teaspoon
- Fresh cream - 2 Cups
- Dry fenugreek leaves - 2 Tablespoons
- Coriander leaves - 2 Tablespoons
- Ginger - 2 Tablespoons
- Coriander leaves for garnishing - 1 Tablespoon
How to Make Adraki Murgh
Step 1: In a frying pan, add peppercorns, cloves, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, and dry roast until it turns golden brown.
Step 2: Transfer this into a mortar and crush it with the help of a pestle. Keep aside.
Step 3: In a heavy skillet, heat the ghee and add nigella seeds, ginger, garlic and stir for 1-2 minutes
Step 4: Then add onions, green chili, tomato, and sauté it. Cook it for 5-10 minutes on MEDIUM heat.
Step 5: Then add salt, paprika, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin powder, prepared masala, and mix it well. Cook it for 5 minutes on MEDIUM heat.
Step 6: Remove it from the heat and transfer this into a blender and blend it into a smooth puree.
Step 7: Add this puree into a heavy skillet and stir well.
Step 8: Then add chicken to the skillet and mix it again.
Step 9: Add one teaspoon sugar and cover the skillet and cook for 15-20 minutes on MEDIUM heat.
Step 10: Then add fresh cream and dry fenugreek leaves, coriander leaves, ginger to it, and mix it well. Cook for another 5-10 minutes on MEDIUM heat.
Step 11: Once cooked, remove it from the heat and garnish it with fresh coriander leaves.
Step 12: Serve delicious Adraki Murgh with rice or naan.
