Lauki Ka Halwa
Lauki ka halwa (pudding) is very easy and anytime sweet recipe. This sweet is very rich in taste and does not require any extra preparation to cook and can be ready instantly. Lauki ka halwa is made with khoya, ghee, cardamom, and bottle gourd. You can make it on special occasions and festivals like Navratri and Diwali. Ingredients of Lauki Ka Halwa Recipe
- Bottle Gourd - 1 Kg
- Khoya (mava) - 500 gm
- Sugar - 300 gm
- Milk - 1 Liter
- Chopped almonds - 2 Tablespoons
- Chopped cashews nuts - 2 Tablespoons
- Chopped pistachios - 2 Tablespoons
- A pinch of green color
- Cardamom powder (elachi powder) - ½ Teaspoon
- Few drops vanilla essence
How to Make Lauki Ka Halwa
Step 1: First wash the bottle gourd and grate it well.
Step 2: Now in a thick bottomed pan, add milk and bottle gourd and mix well.
Step 3: At LOW flame boils the mixture. Simmer the mixture and keep stirring in between.
Step 4: When the milk is reduced from its actual size and bottle gourd is cooked remove the mixture from the flame.
Step 5: Now, in a pan add ghee to it and add the elaichi powder to it.
Step 6: Then add boiled bottle gourd and sugar.
Step 7: When the sugar water evaporated from the mixture add mava, cashews, almonds, pistachios and cardamom powder and mix well and cook it for 5-10 minutes.
Step 8: when the halwa is cooked and becomes thick, add the green colour and vanilla essence to it and mix well and remove the pan from the flame.
Step 9: Serve Lauki ka halwa hot.
