Ingredients of Stuffed Baked Apples Recipe
- Blenched almonds - ¼ Cup
- Read to eat plumped dried apricots - ½ Cup
- Stem ginger - 1 Piece
- Clear honey - 1 Tablespoon
- Syrup from the stem ginger jar - 1 Tablespoon
- Rolled oats - 4 Tablespoons
- Green apples - 4
How to Make Stuffed Baked Apples
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
Step 2: Using a sharp knife, chop the almonds, apricots and stem ginger very finely. Set aside until needed.
Step 3: Place the honey and syrup in a saucepan and heat until the honey has melted.
Step 4: Stir in the oats and cook gently over LOW heat for 2-3 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the almonds, apricots and stem ginger.
Step 5: Core the apples, widen the tops slightly and score horizontally around the circumference of each to prevent the skins bursting during cooking.
Step 6: Place the apples in an ovenproof dish and fill the cavities with the stuffing.
Step 7: Pour just enough water into the dish to come about 1/3 of the way up the apples.
Step 8: Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until tender. Serve immediately.
