- Refined flour - 1 Cup
- Maize flour - 1 Cup
- Baking powder - 2 Tablespoons
- Baking soda - ½ Teaspoons
- Brown sugar - ¼ Cup
- Milk - ¾ Cup
- Curd - ¼ Cup
- Melted butter - ¼ Cup
- Salt - 1 Tablespoon
How to Make Cornbread
Step 1: Preheat an oven at 200°C. Grease a loaf tin o a square baking pan.
Step 2: In a large bowl, prepare a mixture of both refined flour and maize flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
Step 3: In a separate bowl, beat milk, curd and melted butter.
Step 4: Gradually mix dry flour mixture. Don’t over-heat the mixture. Pour into the greased tin or pan.
Step 5: Bake it for 25 to 30 minutes until done, and a light crust is formed.
Step 6: Unmould on a wire rack to make it cool. Cut into slices.
Step 7: Apply butter on the slices and serve with steaming soup.
