Cheese Pepper Rice
Cheese Pepper Rice, this is a mildly spiced rice dish made very quickly. It is easy and simple to make. It is flavored with Kashmiri red chilies.
If you have leftover rice, then it will be ready in ten minutes from start to finish. But here I cooked rice as well; this takes ten more minutes. Slice the bell peppers will take some time. Once all the ingredients are ready, a sautéing part will not take much time. Because bell papers will get cooked in minutes, mix in roasted and pounded Kashmiri red chili powder and rice. Lastly, toss with grated cheese. This cheese taste and flavor makes this dish fantastic.
Ingredients of Cheese Pepper Rice Recipe
- Oil - 5 Tablespoons
- Rice - 1 ½ Cup
- Salt - 1 Teaspoon
- Whole dry Kashmiri red chilies - 4
- Green bell pepper, thinly sliced - 1
- Yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced - 1
- Red bell pepper, thinly sliced - 1
- Grated processed cheese - 4 Tablespoons
How to Make Cheese Pepper Rice
Step 1: Wash and soak the rice for about 30 minutes and drain well.
Step 2: Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a skillet and add rice and sauté on MEDIUM heat for 2-3 minutes.
Step 3: Now, add 3 cups of hot water and salt, stir well. Cook rice on a MEDIUM flame for about 8-10 minutes or till the rice is cooked. Stir it occasionally. Drain if the water is remaining. Set aside.
Step 4: Take a pan and dry roast the red chilies for a minute. Remove from the pan and pound in a mortar pestle to a coarse powder.
Step 5: Heat oil in a skillet, add sliced bell peppers and sauté for 2-3 minutes or until tender a little.
Step 6: Add pounded red chilies and sauté it for 2 minutes more.
Step 7: Add cooked rice and toss all well. Adjust seasoning and cook for another minute.
Step 8: Finally add two tablespoons of cheese mix well and cook again for one more minute.
Step 9: Serve immediately and garnish with remaining cheese.
