Sweet Pongal Recipe (Microwave Recipe)

Pongal is very easy and comfort food of South India. Usually pongal is served on the pongal festival. You can make two type of pongal at home: one sweet and other is spicy pongal. Here I am sharing a sweet pongal recipe which tastes delicious and you can easily make it at home.

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ condensed milk
  • 20 gm mashed jaggery
  • 2 tablespoon ghee
  • 2 small elaichi
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cashewnuts, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon kishmish (raisins)

How To Make?

Step 1: Take a microwave safe bowl and add rice, water and ghee and microwave it for 15 minute at 100% power. Don’t cover the bowl, leave it uncovered.

Step 2: Now, when rice is done and cooked, add cardamoms, cloves, jiggery and condensed milk and microwave it for 5 minutes. Cover the bowl and microwave it at 100% power.

Step 3: Stir in between and mix it well.

Step 4: Now add nuts and raisins and mix it well and serve hot.
